1. Discuss the occurrence, causes, and cost of catheter-associated infections and occlusions.
2. Discuss practices and devices that reduce the risk of catheter-associated infections and occlusions.
3. Describe the available types of Needleless access devise, the relationship between the device and occlusion risk, and the infection control problems their use poses.
4. Identify the characteristics desired in a Needleless access device to reduce the risk of infection and occlusion.

ANCC Credit
HealthStream is accredited as a provider of continuing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. To receive credit, participants must complete the entire activity. Partial credit will not be given. Licensees in all states must provide their license numbers for record keeping purposes.
The certificate of completion must be retained in the participant's records for at least four (4) years. |
